The council’s Corporate Plan will drive five top priorities that have been identified as important for the borough and that have been widely supported by the local community through consultation.

These priorities will shape the decisions and work carried out across all the council’s services over the next three years, with the five ‘pointers’ highlighted by what residents have said matters most to them :

• A clean, safe and welcoming borough.
• Improved access to services.
• Delivering efficient and effective services that residents need.
• Creating opportunities for economic growth and prosperity.
• A well run efficient council.

The council will put a framework in place to set targets and measure and regularly review the council’s performance and achievements.

Councillor Chris Corbett, Leader of Erewash Borough Council, says:

“The Corporate Plan is our guide and sets out how we will work over the next three years and how we will achieve the priorities that our residents have told us are important to them.

“There are many opportunities and challenges facing the borough in the coming years and we remain committed to working hard alongside our partners to ensure residents are proud to live in Erewash.

“Proper financial management remains key to enable us to provide the services our residents expect and we will continue to be cautious and take great care to ensure that council taxpayer’s money is not put at risk.”

The Corporate Plan is also built on the council’s vision to ‘put Erewash on the map – a first class borough in which people have pride and where they choose to live, work and play’.

The Council Executive will meet on Thursday 7 April at 10.30am at Ilkeston Town Hall.
