Erewash Borough Council will once again honour Commonwealth Day by flying the Commonwealth Flag from both Ilkeston and Long Eaton town halls on Monday 14 March.

It will be the third consecutive year that Erewash has joined other local authorities and community groups across the British Isles to mark the commemorative day, which is aimed at showing a public expression of commitment to the Commonwealth.

The Mayor of Erewash, Councillor Val Custance, says:

“We are proud to fly the Commonwealth Flag in our borough to show our commitment and support to the Commonwealth and as a tribute to the values for which it stands and opportunities it offers.”
