The Mayor of Erewash, Councillor Val Custance, will officially open the new Play Trail at the Wirksworth Road Play Area in Kirk Hallam on Monday 9 November at 2pm.
Joining the Mayor at the ribbon cutting ceremony will be children from Ladywood Primary School in Kirk Hallam and Dallimore Primary School in Ilkeston who all helped chose the design of the trail.
The exciting new play facility is of timber construction to blend in with the surroundings and complements the existing play area at the site.
Councillor Mike Wallis, Erewash Borough Council’s Lead Member for Culture and Leisure, says:
“We continue to invest in our play facilities and we are delighted that our latest project has seen the popular Wirksworth Road site extended with an exciting and up-to-date play trail that will appeal to children of all ages. This is another example of our commitment to deliver top quality facilities and we look forward to seeing the whole play facility enjoyed and used by local families.”
