Robin Hood and his band of merry men are the theme for the final exciting week of free activities at Erewash Museum as the school summer holidays come to an end.
Free crafts and activities – including the chance to make a classic Robin Hood or Maid Marian hat – will be held on Tuesday and Wednesday (1st and 2nd September) and on Friday (4th) between 11am and 3pm.
The famous outlaw will also be celebrated with free have-a-go archery sessions in the museum gardens on Thursday 3 September from 11am-3pm. Sessions are suitable for children aged five and above and there is no need to book.
Councillor Mike Wallis, Erewash Borough Council’s Lead Member for Culture and Leisure, says:
“We certainly won’t be ‘outlawing’ any fun times as we stage our final themed week by saluting local legend Robin Hood – it will be a merry old time and the perfect way to end the museum’s fantastic summer programme.”

Erewash Museum is just off the High Street in Ilkeston town centre, a short walk from the Market Place. Admission is free and it is open Monday to Saturday during school holidays between 10am-4pm.
