Family fun, fairground rides, wildlife workshops, Xplorer orienteering, live music and lots more family fun will be on offer at Erewash Borough Council’s free Summer Sounds event being held in Victoria Park, Ilkeston on Sunday 26 July.

The popular event will run from 3pm-7pm and admission, activities and the live concerts are all totally free. There will be various catering outlets or Summer Sounds-goers can make it a picnic in the park.

Three local bands will provide the live music for the 2015 Summer Sounds concert – classic rockers Ronny and the Rockets, the Money Spiders and a Take That tribute act.

Councillor Mike Wallis, Erewash Borough Council’s Lead Member for Culture and Leisure, says:

“This event is fabulous and free and has become a firm favourite with the hundreds of people who go along every year to enjoy a family day out. So put the date in your diary, pack a picnic if you fancy and join us at this fun-filled day that has another great music line-up. Residents can take chairs to the event – along with a blanket and umbrella just in case!”
